About the Project

Earth Observation (EO) and geospatial data play a critical role in monitoring regional, national, and global environmental and climate targets. Professionals and policymakers increasingly demand accessible, science-based tools for immediate and future planning, continuous monitoring and transparent assessment processes.

The Open-Earth-Monitor project, funded by the Horizon Europe program, aims to accelerate the uptake of environmental information and support the building of user communities at the European and global levels by directly supporting the implementation of the European Green Deal, the European Digital Transition, the EuroGEO and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). About Workshop

Organized by the OpenGeoHub Foundation in collaboration with Eurac Research, this international event brings together European and global data and environmental researchers, public and private sector developers, EU decision and policymakers, representatives of global institutions, the business sector, and civil society to discuss and test solutions to the greatest challenges in geospatial applications.

More than 50 European and global experts in Earth Observation, geospatial data, climate policy, and geospatial research, working in organizations such as the World Resources Institute, the European Space Agency and Copernicus ECMWF, will gather in Bolzano, Italy from October 4 – 6, 2023, to present their work in several scientific presentations, discussions, demonstrative workshops, and poster sessions.
