Evoland Project is Coming to an End

The Evolution of the Copernicus Land Service Portfolio (Evoland) project, which began almost three years ago, will conclude this December. Over the last 36 months, the consortium led by Vito (and including IIASA, CLS, CESBIO, Sinergise, Joanneum Research, CNES, DLR, GAF and Evenflow) has developed 12 next-generation Copernicus Land Monitoring Service (CLMS) product candidates. These candidates monitor the status and changes of land use/land cover and various land surface characteristics at high resolution.
Within 6 work packages we:
- Analysed requirements for the new product candidates.
- Developed new methods for land monitoring.
- Integrated those methods into project prototypes.
- Assessed the maturity of the prototypes and their potential for operationalization.
- Conducted extensive communication, dissemination, and exploitation activities.
- Maintained continuous coordination among the different work packages and consortium members to achieve all objectives.

The Evoland Results Portal
Sinergise’s involvement in the first two years focused on the infrastructure requirements, setup, and data access. In recent months, our efforts shifted to developing the Evoland Results Portal.
This portal is integrated as an Evoland Configuration within the Copernicus Browser. For data ingestion, we utilized the Sentinel Hub Bring Your Own Collection service. Integrated as 12 separate collections (one for each prototype), the EvoLand configuration allows users to not only interactively explore all 12 prototypes but also to analyze and download the data.
