The European Geosciences Union 2023 conference is approaching fast, with plenty of opportunities to meet our experts! This year, our presence at the EGU General Assembly 2023 will focus on the new Copernicus Dataspace Ecosystem Browser, a new unified tool for viewing, downloading, accessing and processing Sentinel data. We will be presenting at the ESA booth in the exhibition hall X2, where our team will also be available for discussions.
Planet just announced their plans to acquire Sinergise. We have been cooperating with Planet since 2016, in scope of Sentinel Hub, our leading developer platform for Earth observation data. We expect this merger will continue to lower the barriers-to-entry for current and new customers to access and benefit from actionable EO data.
Join us for our next Sentinel Hub webinar on April 6th 2023 at 4pm CEST, where we will discuss the use of satellite data in monitoring wildfire activity in the Arctic. The Arctic Wildfires topic will be presented by our special guest Dr Thomas Smith. As you may know, satellite data has proven to be extremely useful in tracking and predicting wildfire activity, especially in remote areas like the Arctic. Our webinar will explore whether and how this can be seen through the Earth Observation (EO) data. We will also discuss the phenomenon of 'zombie fires', which seem to survive the winter in peat soils and re-emerge the next year to ignite new fires.
Geocento and Sinergise are delighted to announce their partnership to provide Sentinel Hub customers with effective and flexible access to the wide range of commercial imagery provided by EarthImages, bringing together two very popular imaging platforms. Sentinel Hub is a pathbreaking service, which combines access to Copernicus and other satellite imagery with instantaneous processing capabilities. EarthImages allows users to access commercial off-the-shelf or freshly collected data from over 250 satellites in one place, with intuitive search and end-to-end ordering tools.
Partnerstvo med podjetjema Geocento in Sinergise uporabnikom Sentinel Hub-a zagotavlja učinkovit in prilagodljiv dostop do še bolj širokega nabora komercialnih posnetkov. S to navezavo sta podjetji namreč združili dve zelo priljubljeni platformi, Sentinel Hub in EarthImages.
Sinergise has expanded their partnership with Planet, allowing all Planet customers, developers, and data scientists to leverage the Area Monitoring system to build solutions for monitoring agricultural activities across broad geographic scales. The system enables farmers, businesses, and governments to transform their management practices and report their sustainable impact. Building upon the successful implementation in several EU countries, this new partnership will help extend the reach and coverage of our Area Monitoring system to the entire world.
AI4EO is an initiative of the European Space Agency (ESA) Φ-lab, implemented by a consortium of private companies and start-ups consisting of SpaceTec Partners, Planetek Italia, Sinergise, GMATICS and EarthPulse. The group's mission is to organise innovative AI-based challenges to foster the growth and engagement of the AI4EO community. It provides a platform for researchers and programmers to showcase their work and make a tangible contribution to solving some of society's most pressing challenges. As a partner and contributor of our expertise in data access/processing and AI, we're excited to invite you to the next challenge - the OrbitalAI Challenge - where you can showcase your innovative solutions for in-orbit data processing.
We're pleased to make available the recordings of our Global Earth Monitor project (GEM) webinar held on 14 February 2023. The various stakeholders from the Earth Observation field and beyond presented the results of the project (with a particular focus on the use cases results). The morning session provided a good overview of the project, while the afternoon sessions focused on the guided exercises to show GEM outcomes and use of the developed tools.
The first edition of the CryoHackathon, organised by the Early Career Glaciologist Group (EGG) of the International Glaciological Society (IGS), ended successfully on Sunday 19 February 2023. The overall goal of all participants having an exciting weekend of fun and working together on cryosphere-related projects was achieved in a nice, inclusive and respectful atmosphere! We're happy to be a partner and enable the winning team to further develop their idea with the help of Sentinel Hub services.
Join us on February 27th 2023 at 4pm CET and discover the incredible power of Earth Observation (EO) data for search and rescue missions! Our special guest, Benjamin Kuo, will share his expertise on the various types of imagery data available, including commercial options from Airbus, Maxar, and Capella, as well as open Sentinel data. You'll get a first-hand look at the pros, cons, and challenges of working with EO data, and hear inspiring examples of how satellite data has aided in successful search and rescue operations.
